Really good make up tips for dinner dance?

I have fairly pale skin, with no real suggificant undertone. I also have brown/black hair. I'm wearing a red strapless dress to my dinner dance. (not sure about hair yet..)

Anyway, I was thinking a red lip, and a light smokey eye would look really cool, with just a touch of blush. The only problem is I don't know how to do any of this. My daily make-up routine is a light coat of bronzer and chapstick.. So what do i need, and what are some CLEAR and step-by-step directions to get this look?

THANK YOU SO MUCH.Really good make up tips for dinner dance?
i think that you should pick one focal point on your face... even if you do a light smokey eye, it's easy to have it appear as too much. i'd suggest to either pick the eyes as the focal point or the lips, especially if you want a red lip.

face:

i LOVE pale/light skinned people. i think it's very beautiful, especially with the right makeup :D

1. moisturize your face with a moisturizor that suits your skin type.

2. use a makeup/foundation primer. sephora has one that's good and smashbox's photofinish primer is AMAZING! but if you don't want to fork out that kind of cash (although well worth it) try something like monistat's anti-chafing gel...i know this might sound really weird/gross...but it works as an excellent primer as it has the same key ingrediants found in products such as MAC's matte gel and smashbox's photofinish primer

3. apply foundation. i'd HIGHLY suggest mixing it with an artificial light (i'd strongly reccomend mac's lightly line or strobe cream) this will soften any imperfections while giving you a soft, healthy glow....which looks absolutely stunning on lighter skin tones :)

4. apply any concealer...as needed

5. set with powder all over face.

6. take your blush (i'd suggest taking a shimmery brown, such as mac trace gold) and put it on the apples of your cheeks and blending up into your temples...then taking a peachie/light pink color and putting it on the apples of your cheeks. be sure to go light with this step, otherwise you'll look like a dirty clown :P)

7. you could also opt to add some bronzer to give you a little more color. LIGHTLY dust it on your forehead, nose and chin where the sun would naturally hit you...or you could use it for contouring :)

EYES:

for a smokey look:

1. start with a base. i like to use mac's shade stick in beige-ing...whatever you use as a primer, make sure to use it because this will help to give a better color payoff as well as keeping it in place without creasing or fading

2. highlight color: use a white eyeshadow (i'd suggest in a shimmery finsh) and apply it on your brow bone, under your eyebrow, on the side of your nose onto your tearduct. doing this will open your eyes up and make them look more awake

3. place your darkest color all over the lid and blending into the crease

4. take your midtone (not the darkest but not the lightest color) and blend it into the crease and towards your highlight

5. take your darkest color and line your bottom lashline 1/2 - 2/3 the way in...from outter corner to inner corner. with the remaining 1/2 or 1/3 of your bottom lash line (closest to the tear duct) line it with your highlight color

LIPS:

if you decide to go with a red lipstick, it's VERY important to use a primer and lipliner!!!! there's nothing tackier than someone with smeared ring around the lip in red! use the same method for other colors as well

1. prime your lip (mac's prep + prime lip works soooo well!)

2. line your lip with a liner that is the same color, or slightly darker (this is better beause it gives it more dimension) and line your lips. make sure to fill in your lips a little with the liner. this also helps to keep the lipstick from smudging/fading

3. apply lipstick

4. take some iridescent powder (or just use a highlight eyeshadow shade) and place it right inbetween your cupid's bow and below your lip in the center. this will give the illusion of fuller lips :)

if you do a smokey eye, do a nude to sheer color lip. if you go with the red lips, go light on the eyes. a pinup type of look would look sooooo great! red lips with a light eye (highlight on the browbone and tear duct, a light taup in the crease and black liquid liner with a little flair :) just finish up with some mascara to make the lashes full and lucious and there you go :D )

hope i helped!

good luck!Really good make up tips for dinner dance?
www.Maybelline.com/Video-Gallery good luck sounds like it will look great
hey.

ok right idea, a smoky eye would look great with red.

but however, red lips would overdo it. go for a nude lipstick almost your skin(but a bit pinker) tone with a clear gloss over top.

Bronzer and a bit of blush(light pink!).

For your eyes to apply a bit of eyeliner(black or charcoal). to do this make an asian eye %26gt;.%26lt; haha and sharpen the eyeliner very much to make a verry thin line right along your eye lashes on the top. and on the bottom lid apply the eyeliner on the flat ledge above your eyelashes(sound freaky but its not!!) this will make your eyes pop!!(:

now do a silvery or charcoal ( A LIGHT) layer from the bottom to the middle of your lid. add white in the corner of your eye by your nose (LIGHTLY) and slowly get darker with the charcoal the farther you get away from your eye.

hope this helped!!(:

%26amp; you can buy all of this at a drugstore. I LOVE RITE AID. you dont need the expensive stuff just yet. and this is just as good. oh and wear black mascara %26amp; curl your eyelashes and wear silver shoes(: hahaha kbye

I think that you should get some bangs. Then maybe get some highlights to brighten up your pretty face. You could also curl your hair too that would look really pretty also.

For the makeup use a some bronzer to give your face some color. Do not pile it on though. Then some mascara and maybe a little eyeliner and a nice eyeshadow. I can't really tell what color your eyes are but whatever color they are just pick a shade of eye shadow opposite of that. Because opposites attract and the shade will make your eye color pop. You also use a little gloss on your lips too to finish the look.

Oh and don't listen to that Sarah girl. She's a loser and has no life and has nothing better to do than insult others.Hair and make-up tips? [Pictures]?
wow. u have REALLY pretty hair.

you could always try curling it and leaving the bangs straight if u get bored with it. or you could put it up in a messy bun or a pony tail with the bangs down.

as for make-up, dont use that much, u might wanna hold off on using it too much. just light mascara and tinted lip gloss when you go out.

hope it works out
i think you should get more fuller and thicker bangs.

I think you should definitely liayer your hair

i think you should get some highlights.

I thnk you should use some eyeliner %26amp; mascara

I just want to know how to accentuate my eye color, make the dark circles go away (I have deep-set eyes, so the shadows from my eyebrows make them look darker) and I have pretty long eyelashes, so yeah. And my lips are actually really small, not thin or anything, just small.

No mean comments please, I know I'm not the most beautiful thing ever. Thanks guys :)

First of all, you're a cutie.

Now for my advice to you! You shouldn't use eyeliner on the top of your lashes. It takes away from your beautiful eye color.

You should try using mascara, and eyeliner on the waterline, only halfway. You can use white eyeliner in the corners of your eyes to make them 'pop'. As for color...you can try using neutral shades, purple, pink, blues, green.

But just a small amount.

For lips, your can try any product that will make your lips a tad bigger, then use lipgloss on top of that.

Something like this;

For the dark circles, just use concealer. Finding the perfect one is the hard part.

hi, how about trying bright colours to bring out a sunny, fresh look? you Can still use a black eyeliner to define your eye shape or you can be totally brave and use a bright colour too. just buy some cheap samples and experiment. that's the best way id say. Also try using a lip liner of the same lippy you use, or use abit more lip gloss. If your not a fan of the lippy dont try and change, because more men/boys would go for the natural look, not the caked in make up type. anyways i hope i could be help to you x x

for your eyes do a black eyeliner or navy blue eyeliner...then for the eyeshadow use colors like grays, taupe, violet, and dark blues...it will help ur eyes pop more...

I hope that helps...
well I have the same eye color as you, and what I usually do is use warm brown tones on my eyes, I usually take an eyeliner thats chocolate brown or lighter and just smudge it right above my lash line. To get rid of the dark shadows, use creamy skin tones that match your skin.
Dark eyeliner dark mascara.:)
';my eyes are edited in this, in reality they are that color';

huh?
i know im going to sound old and lame but.......it dosent look like you really need make up
For blue eyes, use greens or browns, greys, anything thats opposite of blue [=. Use a storm-grey or dark brown eyeliner. Some suggestions I have are- Rimmel London Quad Eyeshadow in Cafe Au Lait... it's amazing.. then there is eyeliner that goes w/ it, the color is Chianti... its a purplish plum that's greatttt.. it smudges really well too. Also, put the eyeliner on your top lid, before the eyeshadow, because the shadow will soften it and make the line more natural.. that's what I do, anyways... and keep your lip simple, a clear or pink gloss and your good to go.

I also LOVE Covergirl and Maybelline stuff. Go to covergirl.com and they have live assistants that you can IM with, they give amazing suggestions and know what they're talking about.

Good luck, and remember it's not making what you don't have but rather taking what you do have.

Makeover and Make-up tips!!!~* 10 POINTS*~?

i am 13 going to 8th grade. about 5' 1'' and a bit longer than shoulder length brown hair with short side bangs. i REALLY want a DIY makeover so i can surprise everyone. i don't wear make up so i want some tips and styles for make up that are subtle and suitable for a thirteen year old. i also need pictures for some hairstyles that would look good on me (i would prefer noticable layers) . thank u so much.

best answer ( with links, pics, tips,etc.) gets 10 POINTS!!!!!!Makeover and Make-up tips!!!~* 10 POINTS*~?
Makeup:

First step in the makeup process is to wash your face twice a day using a cleanser. I prefer Clinique's cleansers or Neutrogena. Use a mask once a week to unclog your pores. I would try Biore self heating mask. The second step is to moisturize. The best moisturizer out there is Philosophy's Hope in a Jar or Olay. The third step is concealer. My top two are Maybelline's cover stick and the best, that all of the celebrities use is Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer. If you have a bunch of zits and dark circles, go for Amazing Concealer. It covers it all. The fourth step is foundation. If you have dry skin, you can try a liquid foundation such as L'Oreal Paris True Match Liquid Foundation or Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. If you have oily skin, try a mineral powder foundation such as Physician's formula and BareMinerals. The fifth step is Mascara. I like any Rimmel or Max Factor mascaras. Finally lip gloss. I would try any Stila lip glosses in a clear, light pink, or neutral shade. If you do decide to wear eyeliner, start out with pencil- rimmel and then try liquid- mark eyeliners. Draw a straight line slightly above your lashes. If you have small eyes, only line to the middle undermeath your eyes. On the lid, draw a straight line from the corner out to the edge. Make sure it's as close to your lashes as possible. For a more natural look, wear brown or olive colored liners and for more of a dramatic look try black.

Hair: Maybe have your hair stylist do side swept bangs, layers, and blonde highlights.Makeover and Make-up tips!!!~* 10 POINTS*~?
wash ur face 2x a day (morning and night) with a great cleanser like clean %26amp; clear

try a natural homemade face mask once a week (google some great recipes. lots of the ingredients can be found in ur pantry)

you can get layers, they really help a lot! [[eveyone says short hair is great, but to make short hair look good, it takes a lot of styling]] with layers, you can brush ur hair through and it looks like u did tons of styling (layers, baby!!)

and u can easily put it up or curl or straighten it because its long enough

maybe try some mascara. (ask ur mother!) mascara and lip gloss look amazing! (and u wont need lots of makeup if u take care of ur skin w/ the tips above)
ok im 13 and going to 8th grade too! u said u have brown hair? well i would cut the bangs ovr the eyebrows.

first find concealr that is ur same skin tone (wait till the end of summr if u get a tan)

dark black eyelinner dont put to much on just on the top lid and the bottom.

find mascara that makes ur lashes longr.

find a light pretty color for ur eyes and aply a lot more so it would look nice
There are loads of sites that teach you make over and also hair styling...but basically analyze your skin tone and see which are the colors in make up platter that suit your skin tone.

Push them to the side, left or right.

And there you go!

:)

You'd look really pretty.

If you don't know how to Scrunch your hair ;

You will need;

Blow dryer

Gel

Mousse

How to do it;

Make sure hair is damp.

Put mousse on your hair and scrunch.

Just Put gel on and start scrunching your hair again;

While Scrunching; Blow dry it.

Anyone have Make-up Tips for a difficult face?

I'm looking for some tips to highlight my best features and disguise my worst.

I can't get to my own computer so I can't post any pictures but here is my best description:

Hair: Strawberry blonde (and no I'm not trying to cover up the fact I'm ginger I literally have blondey-reddey hair!) naturally straight, a fringe that frames my jawline in a kind of wispy way.

Face Shape: Essentially heart shaped; I have a very long but rounded chin and rounded applies to all of my features as there are no sharp angles on my face. And my cheeks can be VERY puffy in the morning but thin out after midday.

Nose: Fine, nothing special and no distinguishing features...it's just a nose.

Lips: A little thin, they dissappear when I smile and their colour is a natural deep red

Eyes: Dark Blue with grey streaks. There are green and brown rings around the pupil and a light grey ring around the iris.

Skintone: Very pale. With freckles too. I tend to get a slight reddness on my cheeks, nose and chin.

Skin type: Combination - oily in the morning and fine at night. My chin get's quite greasy.

Eyebrows: Blonde and a good shape without plucking, this would be great if anyone could actually see them but they literally blend in with my face.

Jawline: Faint, not strong at all.

Teeth: (I don't know if this helps) Straight and not too big or too small. My mouth naturally hangs open to display the bottom of my front teeth.

If you need any more details let me know but I think I have it covered!!

NB: I'm a 17 year old girl who wants to obtain a natural look more than anything. I don't want the whole smokey eyes thing or eyeliner!

(also include some hair tips too if you want - it hangs down just past my shoulders)

Thank you to anyone who makes the effort to read and answer this question - I know it's long!Anyone have Make-up Tips for a difficult face?
Your face does not sound difficult at all. for a simple look go for a light foundation or powder. Since you have clear skin you may tend to skip this step, but a foundation pulls any make-up look together. At the very least, try a tinted moisturizer.

Since your lips are dark naturally you may not want to wear a lot of color. Try a lip-plumping gloss to help enhance them.

A light dusting of blush in a bronze or pinky shade will likely look most natural. Apply mainly to the apples of your cheeks.

A slight up turn of your eyeliner at the corners should help counteract droopiness. A thin black line always looks good with blue eyes. Mascara, specially focused on the outer corners of your lashes will also help. You may not want to go with too dark a mascara since your lashes are light. A brown would probably be better than black. For dark circles, a peach or salmon toned concealer under foundation will help. A neutral creme or beige color swept across the eyes will be nice. You can go for a bit of sparkle or shine. This is a minimal look that would not require a lot of work.

I'm no make up expert, but I do read a lot of beauty / style magazines and tips.Anyone have Make-up Tips for a difficult face?
1. Use a sheer foundation to even out your redness without covering your freckles, concealer under your eyes and powder to set the areas that get oily.

2. Use an eyebrow pencil or powder to darken your eyebrows - it always looks kind of weird when people have blond eyebrows that you can barely see.

3. If you want your face to look less round use blush or bronzer underneath your cheek bones to emphasize them.

I know you said you want a natural look, no eyeliner, but that's the only way to help the droopy eyes.

4. Use brown eyeliner on your upper lid only and flick it up a little bit at the corners, almost like a cat eye but more subtle, and fill in the area between where the line flicks up and your lash line with the liner so that it has a little triangle shape at the corner instead of just being a line (hope that makes sense to you!)

5. If you wear eye shadow, have the lid colour (I would do brown) go up and out at the outside corner as well and add a lighter colour (white) on the brow bone.

6. Use brown mascara and concentrate it on the middle section of your lashes, not the outer corner.

With your colouring you would probably look nice with peach blush and lipgloss and gold, brown, bronze, peach or white for eyeshadow.
you sound pretty. for the redness i would use a light mineral powder foundation, just to even it out. dont use too much on the cheeks since you have a natural blush. you want to look healthy not one tone. for the dank circles use a little bit of highlighter under your eyes.

this will reflect the light from the skin. for your chin you can use some blotting paper that should keep it under control.

now the eyes, use some good quality mascara, a dark brown or brown black will look more natural on you, to counter act the droopy eye effect use the tiniest amount of eyeliner at the outer edges of your eyes to shape them. by not making the line thick and using a browny color it will look natural. smudge the line a bit too, just use your finger, i've found that works the best. keep it close to the lash line too.

for your lip just use a shimmery lip balm, the color sounds pretty on you

hope you found this helpful!!
first you sound very pretty :)

i think the best thing for you would be a light mineral powder foundation. look at covergirl

i wish i had your eye color it sounds amazing! you could get a brown eyeliner. try almay play up the blue. its called brown topaz.

mascara. you'll just need a light coat.

i would recommend mabeylline new york waterproff either volume or lengthening (whatever you choose) and get it in a brown NOT BLACK it would be too dark for you

that will be the most basic makeup for you. you could always add a light bronzer. maybe physicans formula.

and eyeshadow. that your on your own because there are so many and you can do almost any color! just walk into the nearest walgreens and experiment!

let me know if you need any more tips! :)
