Make up tips: How to use Foundation without harming your skin!?

Yes. They are great if you want to cover any imperfection, or even if you just want to have a even skin colour.

But, as you may know, they are not really good for the skin. Specially the stick bar and liquid ones.

We all know this, but we still need them. So, how can you take care of your skin but still looking beautiful, and without spending too much money?

Simple.

Instead of applying first the concealer and then the liquid foundation, like they recommend us to do, its better to first apply the foundation powder and then the liquid foundation.

The powder doesn't clog our pores, and makes a barrier between the liquid foundation and the skin.

For this, you may have to buy a liquid foundation that matches the powder one, you don't want a spot of your face looking darker or lighter, do you?

If you are worried about the price of the powder foundation, I have some good and not so expensive ones.

Covergirl is good, but too expensive. Rimmel has great foundation powder. It only costs between $8 and $10.

And also, the liquid foundation will stay longer on your skin if you apply it after the powder. The problem when you apply it before, is that the skin absorbs it. This is awful for our skin and also the liquid wipes away in minutes.

If this helped you, please leave a star.

Good luck,

Liquid foundations are not good for your skin. They may have sun protectants and such in them but the bottom line is, is that your skin will absorb it and it WILL clog your pores. It will happen over time. Also putting powder on before your liquid foundation will not block the liquid from your skin. The liquid will seep in between the cracks and still do damage and the powder will get pressed into lines by the liquid. If you do wear liquid makeup, the best thing you can do even though it still will not promise clear skin is clean your skin thoroughly every night before bed. DO NOT fall asleep with make up on your face because your face needs to breath and tries to repair itself and cells during the night so the makeup blocking it will cause clogging even more. Try using a mineral makeup before a liquid make up. It is much lighter and easier to manage. Good luck!Make up tips: How to use Foundation without harming your skin!?
Foundation with an spf is a very important skin protectant. Don't assume you are saving $ by going cheap. A better foundation should last you 6 months.

A cheap one last about 2 months. Foundation is a very important step to not only saving your skin, but creating a beautiful smooth canvas to start adding color to your face. Apply sparingly and blend jawline.
...foundation does not harm your skin, if anything it helps it. I use a MAC liquid foundation that mosturises your skin and is SPF15 so protects against the sun.

Just make sure you take it off at night properly.
Not all foundation harm the skin. The ones that say oil free and non-comedogenic (however you spell it) don't.

i'm a teenager and i use liquid and i rarely break out!

New York Colour Powder foundation is pretty good. Even with my oily skin it doesn't clog pores. It's really nice light coverage when used over concealer, and no one can tell you have anything on! It's really easy to apply.
Try PurMinerals Liquid Foundations and Primers!

Thanks, this did help me. Foundation definitely stays on better with powder on first so that the oil in your skin doesn't absorb it.
clean your face then apply a moisture cream then a spf to protect your skin
