Really good make up tips for dinner dance?

I have fairly pale skin, with no real suggificant undertone. I also have brown/black hair. I'm wearing a red strapless dress to my dinner dance. (not sure about hair yet..)

Anyway, I was thinking a red lip, and a light smokey eye would look really cool, with just a touch of blush. The only problem is I don't know how to do any of this. My daily make-up routine is a light coat of bronzer and chapstick.. So what do i need, and what are some CLEAR and step-by-step directions to get this look?

THANK YOU SO MUCH.Really good make up tips for dinner dance?
i think that you should pick one focal point on your face... even if you do a light smokey eye, it's easy to have it appear as too much. i'd suggest to either pick the eyes as the focal point or the lips, especially if you want a red lip.

face:

i LOVE pale/light skinned people. i think it's very beautiful, especially with the right makeup :D

1. moisturize your face with a moisturizor that suits your skin type.

2. use a makeup/foundation primer. sephora has one that's good and smashbox's photofinish primer is AMAZING! but if you don't want to fork out that kind of cash (although well worth it) try something like monistat's anti-chafing gel...i know this might sound really weird/gross...but it works as an excellent primer as it has the same key ingrediants found in products such as MAC's matte gel and smashbox's photofinish primer

3. apply foundation. i'd HIGHLY suggest mixing it with an artificial light (i'd strongly reccomend mac's lightly line or strobe cream) this will soften any imperfections while giving you a soft, healthy glow....which looks absolutely stunning on lighter skin tones :)

4. apply any concealer...as needed

5. set with powder all over face.

6. take your blush (i'd suggest taking a shimmery brown, such as mac trace gold) and put it on the apples of your cheeks and blending up into your temples...then taking a peachie/light pink color and putting it on the apples of your cheeks. be sure to go light with this step, otherwise you'll look like a dirty clown :P)

7. you could also opt to add some bronzer to give you a little more color. LIGHTLY dust it on your forehead, nose and chin where the sun would naturally hit you...or you could use it for contouring :)

EYES:

for a smokey look:

1. start with a base. i like to use mac's shade stick in beige-ing...whatever you use as a primer, make sure to use it because this will help to give a better color payoff as well as keeping it in place without creasing or fading

2. highlight color: use a white eyeshadow (i'd suggest in a shimmery finsh) and apply it on your brow bone, under your eyebrow, on the side of your nose onto your tearduct. doing this will open your eyes up and make them look more awake

3. place your darkest color all over the lid and blending into the crease

4. take your midtone (not the darkest but not the lightest color) and blend it into the crease and towards your highlight

5. take your darkest color and line your bottom lashline 1/2 - 2/3 the way in...from outter corner to inner corner. with the remaining 1/2 or 1/3 of your bottom lash line (closest to the tear duct) line it with your highlight color

LIPS:

if you decide to go with a red lipstick, it's VERY important to use a primer and lipliner!!!! there's nothing tackier than someone with smeared ring around the lip in red! use the same method for other colors as well

1. prime your lip (mac's prep + prime lip works soooo well!)

2. line your lip with a liner that is the same color, or slightly darker (this is better beause it gives it more dimension) and line your lips. make sure to fill in your lips a little with the liner. this also helps to keep the lipstick from smudging/fading

3. apply lipstick

4. take some iridescent powder (or just use a highlight eyeshadow shade) and place it right inbetween your cupid's bow and below your lip in the center. this will give the illusion of fuller lips :)

if you do a smokey eye, do a nude to sheer color lip. if you go with the red lips, go light on the eyes. a pinup type of look would look sooooo great! red lips with a light eye (highlight on the browbone and tear duct, a light taup in the crease and black liquid liner with a little flair :) just finish up with some mascara to make the lashes full and lucious and there you go :D )

hope i helped!

good luck!Really good make up tips for dinner dance?
www.Maybelline.com/Video-Gallery good luck sounds like it will look great
hey.

ok right idea, a smoky eye would look great with red.

but however, red lips would overdo it. go for a nude lipstick almost your skin(but a bit pinker) tone with a clear gloss over top.

Bronzer and a bit of blush(light pink!).

For your eyes to apply a bit of eyeliner(black or charcoal). to do this make an asian eye %26gt;.%26lt; haha and sharpen the eyeliner very much to make a verry thin line right along your eye lashes on the top. and on the bottom lid apply the eyeliner on the flat ledge above your eyelashes(sound freaky but its not!!) this will make your eyes pop!!(:

now do a silvery or charcoal ( A LIGHT) layer from the bottom to the middle of your lid. add white in the corner of your eye by your nose (LIGHTLY) and slowly get darker with the charcoal the farther you get away from your eye.

hope this helped!!(:

%26amp; you can buy all of this at a drugstore. I LOVE RITE AID. you dont need the expensive stuff just yet. and this is just as good. oh and wear black mascara %26amp; curl your eyelashes and wear silver shoes(: hahaha kbye
